UPS Canada Labour Status Update

(UPS Press Release)

Effective Monday, November 22, the Canadian Council of Teamsters representing UPS Canada employees initiated a work stoppage. As a result, we are temporarily unable to provide service to your location. We regret the inconvenience caused by this disruption in service.

UPS worked diligently with the Teamster leadership and on October 1st we reached a tentative collective agreement that offered significant enhancements for our employees. We are extremely disappointed that the proposal was not accepted by the membership and that the Teamster leadership has initiated this unnecessary action.

UPS has implemented contingency plans to deliver all shipments picked up as of Thursday, November 18, however these shipments may continue to experience some delays.

The following services are suspended until our negotiations are resolved:

-- Pick up and delivery of all UPS Canada courier shipments destined for locations within Canada, to the U.S. or to Worldwide destinations

-- UPS Standard to Canada: Delivery of UPS Worldwide Express(SM) and UPS Worldwide Expedited(SM) shipments into Canada will continue, however these services may experience some delays.

UPS delivery guarantees on shipments to and within Canada are suspended.

This work stoppage affects UPS Canada operations only and will have no effect on UPS operations outside of Canada.

For packages in transit, please consult the "Tracking" tab, or call 1-800-PICK-UPS (742-5877), for the scheduled delivery date of a specific shipment.

Please continue to consult our Website for up to date service status information. See "Service Updates" on the Canada home page at UPS.com/ca.

We are working intensely to reach a collective agreement at the earliest possible date.

UPS Resumes Service in Canada (11/23/04)

Effective immediately, UPS Canada will resume pickup and delivery services to, from and within Canada.

UPS Worldwide ExpressSM and UPS Worldwide ExpeditedSM shipments into Canada continue to be delivered. UPS Standard service from the U.S. to Canada has been reinstated.

Service guarantees will be reinstated for packages picked up beginning November 24.
